Weather won't be an issue for Matt Ryan inside the Georgia Dome, but it could pose some small issues for teams facing thunderstorms and rain.
Here is the Weather to Watch for Week 1.
Dome games: Seattle Seahawks @ St. Louis Rams; New Orleans Saints @ Arizona Cardinals (retractable roof); New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys (retractable roof); Philadelphia Eagles @ Atlanta Falcons; Kansas City Chiefs @ Houston Texans (retractable roof)
Early Sunday Afternoon
Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears, 1:00 p.m.: Soldier Field can cause issues later in the season but the current forecast is set for a mix of sun and cloud. Temperatures are expected to be warm, peaking around 70 F with light winds moving at 9mph and a 0% chance of rain. Kicking options are Mason Crosby and Robbie Gould with an edge going to Crosby as Gould only made nine field goals last year and went three-for-five from 40+ yards.
Kansas City Chiefs @ Houston Texans, 1:00 p.m.: A hot Texas day brings temperatures starting in the 70s and ascending closer to 80 F throughout the game, therefore it is likely the roof will be open. Houston kicker, Randy Bullock is one of the better kickers in the league, and he knocked in four of five from 50-plus yards last year. With two stingy defenses squaring off in Week 1, the kicking game could be vital.
Cleveland Browns @ New York Jets, 1:00 p.m.: Weather indicates a cloudy day in New York with a 50% chance of rain. Temperatures will hover around 75 F with light winds of 5 mph.
Indianapolis Colts @ Buffalo Bills, 1:00 p.m.: Conditions in Buffalo are not ideal for Tyrod Taylor's starting debut. The forecast calls for clouds and a 80% chance of rain with 13mph winds. Conditions could be an issue for the offenses, defenses, and both kickers.
Miami Dolphins @ Washington Redskins, 1:00 p.m.: The visiting Dolphins will not be playing in Miami-esque conditions. Washington is likely to see temperatures around 70 F with a mix of clouds, possible rain, and a breeze around 3mph.
Carolina Panthers @ Jacksonville Jaguars, 1:00 p.m.: A hot Florida afternoon brings temperatures hitting nearly 80 F and light winds around 10mph.
Seattle Seahawks @ St. Louis Rams, 1:00 p.m.: Inside the Edward Jones Dome conditions will be ideal as always. No issues here. Steven Hauschka is one of the better kickers available.
Late Sunday Afternoon
New Orleans Saints @ Arizona Cardinals, 4:05 p.m.: It is likely the University of Phoenix roof will be closed come game time. The forecast in Arizona calls for possible thunderstorms with outside temperatures likely to hit triple digits. A closed roof means ideal conditions for this possible shootout.
Detroit Lions @ San Diego Chargers, 4:05 p.m.: A beautiful California day in San Diego brings temperatures in the low 80s and partial clouds. No rain but a light breeze around 8mph is expected.
Tennessee Titans @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 4:25 p.m.: The Buccaneers and Titans could be subject to thunderstorms and rain for the start of their game. Currently, the forecast calls for a 50% chance of rain and thunderstorms prior to kickoff extending throughout the game.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Oakland Raiders, 4:25 p.m.: Again, a beautiful California day to play football (or baseball) in the Black Hole. The temperature will range from the mid to low 70s with partial clouds and light winds of 7mph. Regardless of any wind speed, Sebastian Janikowski still has one of the strongest legs in the league.
Baltimore Ravens @ Denver Broncos, 4:25 p.m.: A hot day at Mile High with the temperature approaching 90 F. No rain is expected and a very light breeze of 5mph.
Sunday Night
New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys, 8:30 p.m.: Temperature in Dallas will start in the high 70s and slowly descend from there. This is an evening kickoff so it is more likely the roof is closed and weather conditions are a non-issue.
Monday Night
Philadelphia Eagles @ Atlanta Falcons, 7:10 p.m.: The Georgia Dome is set to host a shootout Week 1. Matt Ryan is the best version of Matt Ryan money can buy inside the Georgia Dome, and kickers Matt Bryant and Cody Parkey have two of the better legs in the league.
Minnesota Vikings @ San Francisco 49ers, 10:20pm.: A California evening sets up Week 1's Monday Nighter. Temperatures in the bay area will remain in the 70s throughout the game with a light breeze around 7mph expected.
