The Pittsburgh Steelers are going to be a little short at offensive tackle when training camp begins.
Head coach Mike Tomlin revealed on Saturday that Mike Adams underwent back surgery for an issue that has been bothering him throughout the offseason. He is expected to miss four weeks.
The 25-year-old will start camp on the PUP list, but based on the timeline, he should ready for Week 1.
Adams has yet to reward the Steelers for using a second-round pick on him in 2012 and has slid down the depth chart behind Kelvin Beachum and Marcus Gilbert. The Ohio State product has struggled at the pro level and made just four starts last season.
