Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Corey Peters was carted off the field during Wednesday's practice with an apparent ankle injury, according to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss.
Peters signed a three-year contract with the Cardinals in March, after spending his first five seasons with the Atlanta Falcons.
The sixth-year pro recorded 26 tackles and two sacks in 15 games last year.
Peters is versatile enough to play defensive end or tackle for the Cardinals. If he's out for a prolonged period, Alameda Ta'amu will replace Peters at nose tackle.
