49ers' Vance McDonald leaves game vs. Cowboys with ankle injury

San Francisco 49ers tight end Vance McDonald left Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys with an ankle injury.

McDonald caught one pass for seven yards before exiting the contest.

Incumbent starter Vernon Davis struggled throughout the 2014 campaign, creating an opportunity for McDonald to move up the depth chart.
