RG3 on decision to remain in preseason game despite injury risk: 'I just work here, man'
Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III says he doesn't know if he suffered a concussion in his team's second preseason game and doesn't know if he should have returned to the game after taking several big hits.
"I just work here, man," Griffin told reporters Thursday when asked for his take on the matter.
Griffin's detached approach comes amid rumors he's at odds with his coaches.
Griffin was battered and bruised by Detroit Lions defenders behind a leaky Redskins offensive line in the Aug. 20 game before eventually leaving with what was called a shoulder injury.
The Redskins suggested after the game that Griffin suffered a concussion, then said the next day that he was fine.
Head coach Jay Gruden is adamant Griffin will remain his starter, prompting some cynics to speculate Gruden knows Griffin will eventually get hurt and clear the way for a new starting quarterback.
Griffin said Thursday he will leave decisions about playing time up to his coaches and insisted he's ready for whatever opportunity comes to him.
