Jen Welter, the NFL's first female coach, accepted an invite from Floyd Mayweather to attend his Sept. 12 bout against Andre Berto.
Welter recently completed an internship with the Arizona Cardinals, but was not retained by the club.
"I think it's a phenomenal gesture on his part," Welter said to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss. "Why would I want to turn that down?"
Mayweather remains undefeated at 48-0 after defeating Manny Pacquiao on May 2 in what many billed as "The Fight of the Century" prior to the contest.
His history of domestic violence was well-documented prior to his bout against Pacquiao, and some questioned why Welter would accept his invitation - a sentiment she rejected.
It's expected to be the final fight of Mayweather's career.
