Bengals place Vontaze Burfict on PUP list

The Cincinnati Bengals placed linebacker Vontaze Burfict on the physically unable to perform list with a knee injury Saturday.
Burfict recorded 29 tackles and a forced fumble in five games last season, before undergoing season-ending arthroscopic knee surgery.
The Arizona State product was viewed as a character risk before the 2012 Draft and was not selected as a result. Cincinnati signed Burfict as an undrafted free agent, and the 24-year-old was named to the Pro Bowl in 2013, while capturing second-team All-Pro honors.
If he's medically cleared, Burfict can return to practice after Week 6.
A.J. Hawk and Vincent Rey will likely assume Burfict's place in the starting lineup.
