Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy was carted to the locker room with an ankle injury, and will not return.
The Packers' training staff tried to tape Lacy's ankle, but the running back couldn't put weight on it. Prior to being ruled out, Lacy was deemed questionable to return.
Lacy is one of the premier backs in the NFL, and a prolonged absence would be a crushing blow to the Packers' high-octane offense. The Green Bay star rushed for 9 yards on three carries before leaving the game.
James Starks replaced Lacy in the starting lineup.
Lacy rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown in the Packers' Week 1 victory over the Chicago Bears.
