Kam Chancellor ends holdout, reports to Seahawks
The Legion of Boom is back together.
Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor ended his holdout and reported to the team Wednesday.
It's unclear if Chancellor will return with a new contract in hand, but it doesn't sound like it. He sent the following message to ESPN's Stephen A. Smith:
Ima go help my teammates that are understanding of my position and the ones who aren't. God forgives all, why can't i? Time to help us get back to the big dance . I can address business after the season. Me and Marshawn started a mission 2 years ago. I can't let my Dawg down....Real talk.
Chancellor is reportedly facing about $2.1 million in team fines for skipping the season's first two games, but it's virtually certain the Seahawks will waive most or all money owed.
In Chancellor, the Seahawks get back a three-time Pro Bowler who is instrumental to the functioning of their defense. He is not only a rare breed of player on the field, with the ability to shut down receivers in coverage like a safety and stuff the run line a linebacker, but also a tremendous leader off the field.
