Titans' Mariota participates in individual drills Wednesday

Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota completed individual drills at practice Wednesday after missing Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons due to an MCL sprain.

Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt said Monday that he'd try to gauge Mariota's readiness throughout the week. If the rookie can't start Sunday against the Houston Texans, Zach Mettenberger will almost certainly be inserted into the starting lineup.

"We're going to monitor my progress throughout the week," Mariota told reporters Wednesday. "Important thing is to make sure I have my mobility to play Sunday."

Whisenhunt indicated that Mariota improved as practice went on.

"It was good to get him back on the field," he said.
