Ravens' Matt Elam suspended 1 game for violating substance abuse policy
Baltimore Ravens safety Matt Elam has been suspended one game for violating the league's program for substances of abuse.
Elam is on injured reserve for the season with a biceps injury so the suspension will not affect the Ravens' active roster. Elam will be forced to forfeit one game check, however.
"We have been aware of the situation for awhile," the Ravens said in a statement. "Matt has been in our building rehabbing his injury on a regular basis, and he will continue to do so."
Elam was a first-round pick of the Ravens in 2013.
