Former NFL offensive lineman Kyle Turley appeared on Thursday's episode of "Highly Questionable" to advocate the use of medical marijuana, rather than pharmaceuticals, to treat football injuries.

Turley, a two-time All-Pro who retired in 2007 after suffering several concussions, described how the drugs he was taking severely affected him.

"And depression, anxiety, and the light sensitivity got worse," Turley explained. "And suicidal and homicidal tendencies became a part of my daily living in that I couldn't be around a knife in my kitchen without having an urge to stab someone, including my wife and kids. That was highly disturbing to me."

Turley says he loves football and had wanted to continue playing. He says that since he wants his son to have a better chance at it, he is advocating alternative treatments.
