Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy tweeted an apology on Saturday after graphic photos of the injuries his ex-girlfriend sustained in a 2014 incident in North Carolina were released by Deadspin on Friday.
Just had to say I express my regret 4 what happened in past and I'm Dedicated to being the best person & teammate that I can be

but mostly I am Grateful 4 the opportunity to play in NFL #GodBlessHookyStreet

It's the first time Hardy has shown any remorse for the incident that left a woman bruised and in extreme distress. The apology comes on the heels of a statement released by Cowboys owner Jerry Jones that acknowledged the seriousness of the incident but supported Hardy nonetheless.
