New England Patriots left tackle Nate Solder's infant son is battling cancer, the 2011 first-round pick announced Monday at a gala benefiting the Joe Andruzzi Foundation.
Hudson, born in July, was diagnosed with a Wilms' tumor in October and has undergone a few rounds of chemotherapy at Boston Children's Hospital.
Solder, on injured reserve with a torn bicep, beat testicular cancer in 2014 and was able to play all 16 games despite the diagnosis.
Joe Andruzzi, a former Patriots player and now strength and conditioning coach, helps support families who are dealing with the effects of cancer through his foundation.
