Michael Griffin News: Griffin was fined $21,000 for hit against Vikings, Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports.

Griffin was fined $21,000 for hit against Vikings, Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports.

The fine was assessed for Griffin's sideline hit on Vikings receiver Michael Jenkins in which he got a 15-yard penalty for leading with his helmet. With commissioner Goodell laying the hammer on vicious hits this year, Griffin needs to be disciplined in order to avoid double the fine or even a one-game suspension should another incident like this occur again. Since Griffin's monster 18-tackle output against San Diego in Week 2 his performance has been spotty but he's on pace to get triple-digit tackles which would make a nice season.
