Rams' Gurley dealing with mild case of turf toe

St. Louis Rams running back Todd Gurley is dealing with a minor case of turf toe, head coach Jeff Fisher told reporters on Sunday.
Gurley was held out of Sunday's loss to the San Francisco 49ers, and Fisher indicated that while the franchise rookie avoided a major setback, it will take some time for him to recover from the nagging injury.
"But we didn't feel like it was necessary to mess with it, and create possibility where it would damage the joint a little bit more," Fisher said.
Gurley is likely to be voted Offensive Rookie of the Year after a brilliant season in which he tallied 1,106 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns in 13 games. He should have no problem getting back to full health prior to the beginning of the Rams' offseason program.
