Donald Trump: I would've taken Jets to playoffs

Russell Cheyne / Reuters

Despite an impressive 10-6 record, the New York Jets narrowly missed the playoffs. One of the city's most famous denizens floated a theory about why the team is looking from the outside in.

Donald Trump pointed out that Woody Johnson, the Jets owner, also serves as Jeb Bush's finance chairman. Bush is considered one of Trump's main adversaries for the Republican presidential nomination.

Trump announced his grandiose theory Monday.

It's an interesting point, although Todd Bowles and the Jets' staff will likely disagree with the business magnate.
