Bengals DC: Steelers' Porter 'an embarrassment to the coaching profession'
The Cincinnati Bengals aren't done talking about their wild-card loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers and the many ways they believe they were wronged in the game.
Perhaps the most salient issue for the Bengals is Steelers outside linebackers coach Joey Porter's presence on the field late in the game. NFL rules strictly prohibit assistant coaches from setting foot on the field, let alone getting into it with players at midfield, as Porter did.
Porter is expected to be fined for his actions.
Bengals defensive coordinator Paul Guenther had some very harsh words for Porter when addressing the media Monday.
Port is "an embarrassment to the coaching profession," Guenther said, according to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Cincinnati Enquirer.
Guenther added that he approached Porter before the game and asked him not to speak to Bengals players after Porter had done so several times during the teams' previous meeting.
As for talk that the Steelers gave Porter a game ball, Guenther was equally harsh.
"Well, then that goes to show you what kind of organization they're running," he said.
