Report: Chandler Jones hospitalized due to synthetic marijuana use
New England Patriots star defensive end Chandler Jones was hospitalized Sunday morning due to a bad reaction to synthetic marijuana, according to Christopher Gasper of the Boston Globe.
Jones reportedly asked the Foxboro Police Department for assistance around 7:40 a.m., and quickly transferred to Norwood Hospital. The Pro Bowler was released the same day and returned to practice Monday without further incident.
Audio recordings were obtained Wednesday, purporting that Jones was a "confused party" upon meeting with officers.
If Jones was found to have used synthetic marijuana, it would stipulate a violation of the league's substance abuse policy. For the first offense, however, Jones would not be penalized.
The NFL will review the incident further, the Boston Globe confirmed.
