The NFL will consider suspending Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib for the start of the 2016 because of an intentional face-mask penalty he committed on Carolina Panthers wide receiver Philly Brown, a source told Mike Florio of PFT.
Talib admitted that he committed the foul on purpose during Super Bowl 50 because of the relatively small impact it had on the Panthers' field position, moving them from the 3-yard line to the 1-and-a-half-yard line, and to send a clear message of intent to Carolina.
The 29-year-old's history of misconduct on the field will factor into the NFL's decision, as will the lack of remorse Talib openly showed, reports Florio.
The league will examine Talib's case during the normal process of postgame evaluations.
