Chad Johnson doesn't care about HOF selection: 'I inducted myself already'
Ex-NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson is unconcerned that it's unlikely he will ever receive a bust in Canton, Ohio, because he has already inducted himself.
After Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk questioned why Johnson was included in the NFL Network's possible 2017 Hall of Fame candidates, Johnson jokingly retorted that he had already bypassed the selection process.
Not sure why Ochocinco is listed here. There is a 0.0% chance he gets into the Hall of Fame. https://t.co/VKdjXlrKik

I inducted myself already, I care not to play the political waiting game. https://t.co/c2x40Y8DRb pic.twitter.com/fz2kForiYL

In fairness, at one point in his career, it was not ridiculous to suggest that Johnson was on the path to Canton. However, his production dramatically declined in 2008 after six consecutive 1,00-yard seasons and he never regained his form, last playing for the New England Patriots in 2011.
He finished his career with 766 catches for 11,059 yards and 67 touchdown, which falls far short of the kind of production expected from a Hall of Fame caliber receiver.
While Johnson will almost certainly never be inducted to the Hall of Fame, he'll be remembered as arguably one of the most entertaining players in NFL history.
