49ers name Al Guido team president
The San Francisco 49ers named Al Guido as their president Thursday.
Guido has served as the 49ers' chief operating officer since January 2014. Prior to joining San Francisco, he worked as a sales manager for the Dallas Cowboys.
"We have seen tremendous growth as an organization over the last several years due to the talents, hard work, and leadership of our executive staff," 49ers CEO Jed York said in a statement on the team's official website. "They are excellent professionals who thrive on new opportunities, and I am excited about what lies ahead for them and our team."
Paraag Marathe, who's been the president of the 49ers for the past two years, will now operate as the chief strategy officer and executive vice president of football operations.
