Redskins release Dashon Goldson

Robert Griffin III isn't the only Washington Redskins player getting his walking papers Monday.
The team also released veteran safety Dashon Goldson, the team announced Monday.
Goldson signed a five-year, $41.25-million contract in 2013. His level of play last season didn't approach warranting the $7.5 million he was due to be paid in 2016.
In addition to Goldson and Griffin, the Redskins released safety Jeron Johnson and defensive lineman Terrance Knighton.
