Report: RG3 'very much' wants to play for Rams

Geoff Burke / USA TODAY Sports

If Robert Griffin III has his way, he could soon play for the franchise that traded away the chance to draft him.

The quarterback "very much" wants to play for the Los Angeles Rams, a source told Vincent Bonsignore of the Los Angeles Daily News.

Griffin was released by the Washington Redskins this week, three bumpy seasons after he lit the NFL on fire en route to Rookie of the Year honors.

The Rams need a quarterback and are rumored to be interested in making a big splash in their first season back in California, but it's worth noting that the Rams traded away the second overall pick - and the right to draft Griffin - in 2012. The same people running the Rams then run the franchise today.

It's unclear what Jeff Fisher and Les Snead think of Griffin today, but it sounds like there's interest in a partnership from at least one side.
