The Dallas Cowboys and tight end James Hanna have agreed to terms on a three-year, $8.25-million contract, a source told ESPN's Adam Caplan.
Hanna has been with the Cowboys for his entire four-year career. He caught nine passes for 79 yards last season and has amassed a career total of 33 catches for 286 yards and no touchdowns.
He was listed as a starting tight end for 12 games in 2014, but was used primarily as a blocker for the departed DeMarco Murray and only caught four passes that season.
The 26-year-old visited with the San Diego Chargers earlier Friday, but the Cowboys apparently made a stronger offer.
He will compete with Gavin Escobar to be Jason Witten's backup again in 2016.
