Thornton signed a four-year, $18 million contract with the Cowboys on Thursday, the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis:
A run-stuffing defensive end in the Eagles' 3-4 defense, Thornton will shift inside for the Cowboys and line up next to Tyrone Crawford at defensive tackle, replacing Nick Hayden in the starting lineup. There won't be a lot of IDP value for Thornton in that role, but he should help solidify Dallas' team defense, and having a more active partner at DT could boost Crawford's numbers as well.
