The Buffalo Bills have signed former Minnesota Vikings safety Robert Blanton, the team announced Friday.

Although terms of the deal were not announced, Blanton signed a one-year contract worth $840,000, with an $80,000 signing bonus, according to USA TODAY's Tom Pelissero.

The 26-year-old projects to be a depth safety and special-teams player for the Bills' defense with Aaron Williams and Corey Graham returning. Blanton had 34 tackles and three pass deflections in spot duty with the Vikings in 2015 and has only one interception in 60 career games.

Blanton spent his entire four-year career with the Vikings, primarily as a strong safety. He started 13 games in 2014, but lost his starting job to Andrew Sendejo last season.

Blanton will reunite with ex-Viking fullback Jerome Felton in Buffalo.
