405-pound LaQuan McGowan could be heaviest player ever drafted into NFL

LaQuan McGowan, a tight end out of Baylor, has a chance to make NFL history this year as the heaviest player ever drafted.
McGowan weighed in at 405 pounds at Baylor's pro day, which NFL Media's Gil Brandt speculates might be the heaviest prospect ever at a pro day. He put up impressive numbers for a man his size too, running the 40-yard dash in 5.55 and 5.41 seconds, recording a 24-inch vertical jump, an 8-foot-2 broad jump, and performing 30 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.
Former Detroit Lions offensive tackle Aaron Gibson was the heaviest player in NFL history at 410 pounds, but as Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk notes, he weighed in at 386 pounds at the 1999 Scouting Combine, making him lighter than McGowan is now.
