Reports suggesting the NFL would make a decision on reinstating Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon this week are false, a league spokesman told ESPN's Field Yates.
Gordon applied for reinstatement from indefinite suspension for substance abuse violations on Jan. 20. It was widely believed the NFL was required to issue a decision within 60 days - something the league has refuted now that that deadline has passed.
"There is no requirement that a reinstatement decision be made in 60 days," the spokesman told Yates. "We endeavor to develop the necessary information to make a decision in that timeframe, but the actual decisions are made when appropriate."
Gordon led the NFL in receiving in 2013, but due to multiple suspensions, he has played only five games since then.
