San Francisco 49ers running back Carlos Hyde is doing things a little differently this offseason in preparation for Chip Kelly's up-tempo offense.
"The minute I saw that the 49ers got Chip Kelly, we completely changed his approach to how he trained," David Alexander, who has been training Hyde in Miami, told Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.
The goal, Alexander added, is to get Hyde down to 220 pounds without losing any of his power. He said Hyde is already under 230 pounds, down from his listed weight of 235.
"I've got his mind wrapped around being on the field 10 plays straight," Alexander said.
