Hue Jackson impressed by RG3: 'Felt like the Earth moved beneath my feet'
Robert Griffin III has at least one big fan in the Cleveland Browns' organization.
The 26-year-old former second-overall pick signed a two-year contract with the Browns on Thursday worth a reported $15 million, and after his private workout with the team last week, head coach Hue Jackson was impressed with what he saw in the young quarterback.
"It felt like the Earth moved beneath my feet," Jackson said, according to Jeff Darlington of NFL Media, citing team sources.
Jackson also described Griffin's performance in passing drills as "freakish" leading Browns owner Jimmy Haslam to give his management group pretty clear instructions:
"Go get him."
The Browns are expected to take a quarterback in the upcoming draft, but with the odd approach they've had to free agency, it's not out of the question for them to move forward with Griffin as their signal caller, given the high praise.
