The NFL will continue the suspension of its local blackout policy through the 2016 season, Daniel Kaplan of Sports Business Daily reports.
Commissioner Roger Goodell said more study is needed before the NFL wipes the policy from its books for good.
Under the policy, which was first implemented in 1973, teams were required to sell 85 percent of their non-premium tickets by 72 hours before kickoff in order for games to be broadcast locally.
There were no blackouts in 2014, and only two the previous season.
