The Philadelphia Eagles' latest edition to a crowded receiver core expects to set himself apart next season.

"I feel confident that I will be (a starter)," Rueben Randle told Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com. "Everyone has a fresh new start. I'm excited for the opportunity to showcase my talents."

Randle and Chris Givens are the newest members of the Eagles' wide receiver group, joining 2015 first rounder Nelson Agholor, 2014 second-round pick Jordan Matthews, and 2014 third-round pick Josh Huff.

The 24-year-old spent the first four years of his career with the New York Giants before signing a one-year contract in Philadelphia. He put up 2,644 yards on 188 catches with 20 touchdowns through four seasons.

The Eagles were starting three receivers under Chip Kelly, but it is uncertain how many pass catchers new head coach Doug Pederson will be calling upon on a regular basis. Randle felt that the Eagles would give him the best chance to show what he can do, despite the Giants showing interest as well.

"There were (other teams interested)," Randle said. "But I felt like this was the best opportunity for me to showcase my talent and improve myself."

The former LSU Tiger had a career high in touchdowns last season with eight. He caught 57 passes for 797 yards in 16 starts in 2015.
