Wild's Jordan Schroeder: Clears waivers
Schroeder went unclaimed through waivers Wednesday and is still scheduled for an arbitration hearing July 27, Michael Russo of the Star Tribune reports.
Analysis:
Schroeder going unclaimed waivers does not bode well for his chances of winning his arbitration hearing, as the Wild can point to the fact that no other team was willing to pick him up at his current contract. It's hard to imagine that the 25-year-old will be signed to a long-term deal given the continued back and forth of this contract negotiation, not to mention the center's limited production.
