Devils' Scott Wedgewood: Clears waiver Tuesday

Wedgewood has gone unclaimed off the waiver wire and will report to AHL Albany, Andrew Gross of The Record reports.

Analysis:

This move comes as no surprise with both Keith Kinkaid and Anders Lindback battling for the backup role in New Jersey. The netminder will be reassigned to the minors where he went 14-3-3 last season with an outstanding 1.55 GAA. The 24-year-old appears to be stuck behind a logjam in goal and may have to head elsewhere to secure regular NHL minutes, but for this season he is likely in the AHL to stay.
