Eriksson guilty of long-distance own goal in Canucks debut
CBC Sports
This is not the debut Loui Eriksson had in mind.
The Vancouver Canucks' prized offseason acquisition inadvertently put the puck in his own net from center ice Saturday night on an attempted pass to Erik Gudbranson with goaltender Ryan Miller pulled on a delayed penalty.
Calgary Flames defenseman Brett Kulak was initially credited with his first NHL goal on the play, but it was later awarded to Troy Brouwer.
The Canucks signed Eriksson to a six-year, $36-million deal on July 1.
