Letestu opens Heritage Classic scoring on shorthanded breakaway
Bruce Fedyck / USA TODAY Sports
The first goal at Sunday's Heritage Classic came from an unlikely source.
With the Winnipeg Jets attempting to open the scoring on a second period power-play opportunity, it was instead Mark Letestu of the Edmonton Oilers who took advantage of a Dustin Byfuglien turnover and converted on a breakaway with a wrist shot past Connor Hellebuyck.
The goal was Letestu's second of the season, and only the second shorthanded goal scored outdoors in NHL history.
