Brouwer suffered the injury in a game against Vancouver on Dec. 23. It's similar to one that sidelined Johnny Gaudreau for 10 games, but in a different location.
In 36 games since signing a four-year, $18-million deal with the Flames, Brouwer has recorded eight goals and nine assists.
