Burns scores another pair, ties career high with 27 goals
Brent Burns may not be from this planet.
The San Jose Sharks defenseman was at it again Saturday, scoring another two goals in his team's 4-1 win over the Arizona Coyotes. Burns is now up to 27 goals on the season, tying his career high in only his 59th game.
Only three players have scored more goals than Burns, who, again, is a defenseman: Sidney Crosby (31), Jeff Carter (29), and Max Pacioretty (28).
There's more: Burns is now up to 63 points, only one behind Crosby for second in the NHL, and four behind Connor McDavid for the league lead.
Burns is ridiculous. He's going to be taking home hardware at the NHL Awards this summer, the only question is how many awards. He could conceivably win the Norris Trophy, Art Ross Trophy, and Hart Trophy.
