Blues' Jordan Schmaltz: Makes NHL debut Sunday

Schmaltz had two hits and finished plus-1 over 15:07 in Sunday's 3-0 win over Colorado.

Analysis:

Schmaltz, the Blues' first-round draft pick in 2012, was making his NHL debut, taking the spot of Robert Bortuzzo against the Avs. With the Blues having struggled of late, Sunday's shutout notwithstanding, coach Mike Yeo sees Schmaltz as a possible offensive contributor and even gave the rookie minutes on the second-unit power play Sunday.
