Blackhawks' Nick Schmaltz: Sustains injury during practice

Schmaltz appeared to sustain the injury when he went down in the corner during Thursday morning's on-ice session. The American forward immediately headed to the locker room while favoring his left hand, leaving his status for Thursday evening's meeting with the Stars up in the air. If Schmaltz is unable to go, Andrew Desjardins or Tomas Jurco will slot into the lineup against Dallas.
