Sharks sign Thornton to 1-year, $8M deal

The San Jose Sharks made it official Sunday, announcing the signing of Joe Thornton to a one-year deal.
It's worth $8 million, according to his agency, Top Shelf Sports Management.
The deal was agreed upon Saturday, as Kevin Kurz of NBC Sports California first reported.
Thornton, who turned 38 on Sunday, ranked second on the Sharks with 43 assists and fourth on the club with 50 points this past season.
