The Minnesota Wild have placed winger Chris Stewart on waivers, the team announced Sunday.
The move allows general manager Chuck Fletcher a tad more financial flexibility as the cap-crunched Wild approach Monday's trade deadline.
Stewart, 30, started the season red hot with six goals in his first six games, but has only found the back of the net three times since.
