Ducks select Czech goaltender Lukas Dostal 85th overall
The Anaheim Ducks drafted goaltender Lukas Dostal out of the Czech Republic with the 85th overall pick of the 2018 NHL Draft on Saturday.
Lukas Dostal
Position: Goalie
Height: 6-foot-1
Weight: 165 lbs
Age: 18
Club: SK Horacka Slavia Trebic (Czech 2)
Nationality: Czech
| GP | W | L | GAA | SV% | SO |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 20 | 10 | 10 | 2.43 | .921 | 2 |
The No. 1-ranked European goalie by NHL Central Scouting, Dostal is an under-the-radar prospect that could be hearing his named called as early as the second round.
While he's only 17, Dostal has proven to be poised in his net, posting a solid .921 save percentage and 2.43 GAA in the Czech Republic's second tier this past season.
He might be an obscure name, and might not have the curb appeal of other prospects on the board. But as a goaltending prospect with decent size (6-foot-1), Dostal will assuredly have teams taking serious looks at drafting him.
