Red Wings, Vanek agree to 1-year, $3M deal

The Detroit Red Wings and forward Thomas Vanek agreed on a one-year contract Sunday, the team announced.
The deal is reportedly worth $3 million, according to The Athletic's Craig Custance.
Vanek returns to the Red Wings after playing 48 games with the club during the 2016-17 season when he put up 15 goals and 38 points.
The 34-year-old split this past season with the Vancouver Canucks and the Columbus Blue Jackets, tallying 24 goals and 56 points.
