Winnipeg Jets defenseman Jacob Trouba was awarded a $5.5-million salary for the 2018-19 season in arbitration, the team announced Sunday.

The arbitrator's decision comes right in the middle of the original requests from the Jets and Trouba, which Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported Wednesday were $4 million and $7 million, respectively.

Trouba is coming off his fifth year in Winnipeg where posted three goals and 24 points in just 55 games. He averaged 21:54 of ice-time during the regular season, ranking second among Jets players.

With Trouba locked up, the Jets now have four restricted free agents still without contracts: Tucker Poolman, Josh Morrissey, Brandon Tanev, and Marko Dano.
