Mike Green returned to the lineup Friday when the Detroit Red Wings faced off against the Winnipeg Jets.
The veteran defenseman had been sidelined for the first nine games of the year after he contracted a virus during training camp. The ailment also prevented Green from lacing up in the preseason.
Green is anchoring the Red Wings' top pairing alongside rookie rearguard Dennis Cholowski.
In 66 appearances with Detroit last season, Green notched eight goals and 25 assists.
