Ottawa Senators defenseman Thomas Chabot is out week to week with a broken toe, head coach Marc Crawford told Postmedia's Bruce Garrioch.
Crawford added that he isn't sure if the youngster will be available to play again for Ottawa this season, but that he should be ready if Team Canada wants him at the World Championship in May.
The 22-year-old Chabot has been a rare bright spot for the Senators this season and leads the team with 49 points now that Mark Stone and Matt Duchene have been traded.
Ottawa's won just one of its last 10 games, and sit last in the NHL with 52 points and 12 games remaining.
