The Dallas Stars have officially clinched their first playoff spot in three seasons with a 6-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.
Dallas last made the postseason in 2016 and came within one win of making the Western Conference Final, losing to the St. Louis Blues in seven games.
The Stars booked their ticket into the playoffs despite owning the NHL's 29th-ranked offense. They've scored fewer goals than every team this season besides the lowly Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks.
Only one playoff spot remains up for grabs in the Western Conference, with the Colorado Avalanche and Arizona Coyotes still in the mix.
