Canada routs Great Britain for 1st win at 2019 World Championship

Team Canada bounced back from a tournament-opening loss to Finland with an 8-0 victory over Great Britain at the worlds on Sunday.
Anthony Mantha poured in two goals and three assists, while Kyle Turris chipped in two markers and a helper as Canada dominated from start to finish.
Great Britain was outshot 56-12, including a 22-4 disparity in the first period, and an 18-2 margin in the second.
Carter Hart turned aside all 12 of the shots he faced. Britain's starting goaltender, Ben Downs, allowed eight goals before Jackson Whistle replaced him with less than 10 minutes remaining in the contest.
Up next for Canada is a meeting with the tournament hosts, Slovakia, on Monday. Great Britain faces Denmark on Tuesday.
